While both are highly skilled, an ASE Master Technician represents the highest level of certification. To earn Master Technician status, a technician must pass a group of specific tests in a series. For example, an Automobile & Light Truck Master Technician must pass eight distinct certification exams (A1 through A8) covering everything from engine repair to electrical systems.
